Maintenance Engineer (Chief Engineer)

What does the work consist of?
The Maintenance Engineer is a training position with a view to moving up to Maintenance Supervisor.
He/she carries out the same tasks as the Maintenance Supervisor: maintaining equipment, technical systems and structures to the standards laid down in applicable rules and regulations for the maintenance department.

What do I need to know to hold the position?

In order to hold this position, you must have the following:

  Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer, STCW III/2 (unlimited)

How do I get there?

You come from the maritime industry where you have acquired your Chief Engineer certificate. No offshore experience is required for this position. Provided that you have the certificate, you can also progress from the position of Engine Room Responsible.


Maintenance Supervisor (Chief Engineer)

What does the work consist of?
The Maintenance Supervisor is the head of the Maintenance section of the rig and reports directly to the OIM.
The Maintenance Supervisor is the overall responsible for maintaining equipment, technical systems and structures to the standards laid down in applicable rules and regulations.

He/she is also responsible for keeping the OIM and Senior Toolpusher updated on the condition of the machinery and equipment, ordering parts, record keeping and the appraisal of maintenance personnel.

What do I need to know to hold the position?

In order to hold this position, you must have the following:

  Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer, STCW III/2 (unlimited)

How do I get there?

After some time in a Maintenance Engineer position where you have gained offshore experience and proven your competencies, you can progress to Maintenance Supervisor.

    Respected Sir/Madam,
    Please find the attach file for the resume and scan copy of the documents,applying for the post roustabout Has there is no vacancy in assist.electrician so buy seating home I would like to go in roustabout.
    I knew the work mainly arranging the deck,working with crane,assist the rig floor,housekeeping,cleaning the oily surface on deck,loading -unloading, and helping the deck crew.
    Always kept safety to other as well our to.
    ..
    Please if there is any vacant place for roustabout ..I would like to work.

      You are applying not only at the wrong website (since it’s information only) but you are also applying for a job as roustabout on a post about Maintenance Engineering positions. Also, this is not a way to apply for a job. If you want to apply to get a job, then do so by writing an application letter and a resume. Then email it to a company that has a vacancy for it.
